Poggio del Bolognino Destination Wedding
The Venue and its Atmosphere
Last September, I had the opportunity to be part as photographer of a very special wedding celebration in Umbria at the stunning Agriturismo Poggio del Bolognino in Lugnano in Teverina,
The rural landscape surrounding the venue was nothing short of spectacular. With its open views toward the Tiber valley on the western side, the location offered breathtaking sunset vistas that bathed everything in golden light. It’s the kind of place that makes a photographer’s heart skip a beat—where nature itself becomes part of the story.
The florist team, drawing on their extensive experience, transformed the celebration area with inspired creative touches. They hung a delicate, semi-transparent white cotton curtain to soften the direct sunlight, creating an ethereal backdrop for the ceremony. Small glass jars filled with delicate countryside flowers suspended from braided cords gently touched the fabric, swaying in the breeze and adding movement and life to the scene.
The same thoughtful approach continued at the dining tables, where arrangements of warm old-orange blooms complemented matching table napkins. This cohesive decoration style created a welcoming atmosphere that perfectly balanced rustic charm with refined elegance, making every corner of the space feel intentional and beautiful.
